How to be a Heartbreaker

All around you are things that can help you learn to become a heart breaker and that show you why you should be one. Songs/ books/ past relationships/ other people/ life experiences. The list is long. No matter where you go you can find reasons to become one and learn how to. Once you learn to see what we see, being a heart breaker will be so easy.

There's a song called "How to be a Heart Breaker" by Marina and the Diamonds.

 It pretty much lists some steps to be a heart breaker. It also tells you why we should be heart breakers.

"Rule number one, is that you gotta have fun, but baby when you're done, you gotta be the first to run."

Being a heart breaker is meant to be fun. If guys can have fun playing the field so should we. Have fun when you're with guys. But just remember to be the first to end things.

"Rule number two, just don't get attached to, somebody you could lose."

This rule speaks for itself. Don't get attached. Only stay around as long as you are having fun, but if you feel yourself starting to get attached to somebody "you gotta be the first to run." Get out of there. If they need a reason for your leaving use the same excuses guys use on girls all the time. "It's not you, it's me." "We're too different." "You deserve someone better." Make up the excuse and get out. If you let yourself become attached, the you will end up the one with a broken heart.

"Rule number three, wear your heart on your cheek, but never on your sleeve, unless you wanna taste defeat."

We all know what wearing your heart on your sleeve means. It means you express your emotions freely and openly for all to see. But what does wear your heart on your cheek mean? It pretty much means to show the emotions they want to see. Don't let anyone see how you really feel, but show what they want to see. Act in a way that will keep them wanting more.

"Rule number four, gotta be looking pure. Kiss him goodbye at the door and leave him wanting more."

What does it mean to be looking pure? One definition could be "an adjective used to describe something that inspires awe in those who witness it." So you have to dress/ look/ act in a way that inspires awe. Kiss him goodbye at the door means don't give him too much. You can only give guys a little at a time. It will leave them wanting more and more.

In the chorus it describes why these rules are important. "Boys they like a little/ the look of danger. We'll get him falling for a stranger, a player singing I love you."

 Guys like danger/ mystery. All these rules will help portray that look. You can play the players with these rules.You don't really want to tell them you love them too soon. When in doubt don't say it.

There's another verse in this song that gives you the reason for being a heart breaker. It gives you the why. "Girls, we do, whatever it will take, cause girls don't want, we don't want our hearts to break in two, so it's better to be fake. Can't risk losing in love again babe."

We have already lost in love once or twice. Maybe even more than that. We've learned our lesson. It's time to have fun with love. We've already been hurt and that's why it's best to be this way, so we won't get hurt again. Remember the most important rule is not to get attached because once you do you lose.
